Born March 24, 1925 to Jerry and Tina Pritchard
Died March 5, 1945

Pritchad enlisted July 8m 1944 at Fort Oglethorpe GA and trained at Camp Kilmer, at 
​Stelton, now Edison, New Jersey joining the 87th Infantry Division (tagged the Golden Acorn). 

In October 1944 the unit sailed to the European Theater arriving in England.  By November 1944 they had arrived at Le Havre and was moving into Germany when German Field Marshal Von Rundstedt launched his offensive in the Ardennes Forest (Battle of the Bulge).

They captured Moircy and Remagne late December, moving onto Luxembourg, relieving the 4th Infantry Division.  As the 87th moved to the vicinity of St. Vith, they attacked and captured Schlierbach, Selz ,Hogden and Neuendorf finally crossing the Kyll River early March.  Fighting was fierce and losses were great.  PFC Pritchard was killed in action during this March offense on March 5, 1945.

He was awarded the Purple Heart and is buried in the Henri-Chapelle American Cemetery, Henri-Chapelle, Belgium.
