Born 02/04/1894, Butler, TN  to Thomas F and Mary Grindstaff
Deceased 10/11/1918 (24)   Buried Meuse Argonne American Cemetery, Romagne, France

The 80th Division was organized in August 1917 at Camp Lee, VA and sailed for Europe in June 1918.  The 80th was the only division to see action during the three major offenses and earned 619 awards and decorations.  Their motto was "the 80th Division moves only forward."
